What TRAKCAST accesses
With macOS permission, TRAKCAST accesses the audio device you select. Selected audio is processed to meter, encode, and broadcast it to the streaming server you configure. TRAKCAST connects to that server using credentials you provide.
Data stored on your Mac
Station profiles, metadata-source settings, artwork and metadata caches, and broadcast History are stored locally. Station credentials use macOS/Electron secure storage. During beta, an optional Discogs token is also encrypted locally.
Metadata and artwork services
If you configure a public Serato Live Playlist URL, TRAKCAST requests it to identify current metadata. Artwork lookups may send Artist and Title to MusicBrainz, Cover Art Archive, and Discogs. Those services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Results can be cached locally.
Local OBS overlay
The OBS-compatible overlay server binds to the loopback interface, making it available to software on the same Mac rather than the public internet.
Diagnostics
Diagnostic reports are created for you to review and share voluntarily. TRAKCAST attempts to redact recognized credentials and tokens, but you should inspect any report before sending it.
What we do not do
The initial website and application use no advertising, analytics, or behavioral tracking. We do not sell personal information. A TRAKCAST user account is not presently required.
Your choices and deletion
You can stop provider requests by removing their configuration, revoke microphone access in macOS settings, remove station profiles and History in the app where available, and delete TRAKCAST application data from your Mac. Removing the application alone may not remove its saved application-data folder.
